Sandlot Rule 101: If We Keep Getting Dominated By Him, Put Him On Your Side

If we keep getting dominated by him, go put him on your side.

It seems as though Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz might be entering NFL free agency on June 1 or be back on the trade market.  At 30 years of age and still a prime time player, WFT please sign or trade for this guy. Why?

I have watched countless WFT Games at FedEx and on tv from Lincoln Financial, almost any typical Sunday in recent memory, whether WFT is a winner or loser against the Eagles, at some point during the game I would be screaming at the TV set simply for the fact that we could not cover and have trouble tackling Ertz.

Against WFT without researching Ertz statistics or game logs, Ertz has been a wrecking ball towards our D.  Take it from me, we turn Ertz into a combination of Mark Bravo, the old Giants TE and Mike Ditka, the Chicago great.

If he beats you that many days like Ertz does, time to go get him. Eagles are experimenting with this mantra with former WFT DE Ryan Kerrigan. Now, let’s go get Ertz in return.  Go WFT, today!

it’s Mark BAVARRO, not Bravo. Solid TE but question: if you sign Ertz, who would you cut?

Ahhh, best reason to stay pat.
    L. Thomas should be our starter game 1, anything else—dumb.
    “We are family” mantra.
Been years since thinking of Bavarro, spelling lost in 30 years…
Still remember the highlight of the SF 49ers-Bavarro carrying the defense game.
Lande’s Roster Analysis coming when completed.
    Go Wizards of NBA.
    Thanks.

So Marc, some of us over on Hogs Haven have been kicking the idea around of having Jon Allen become a flex DT-DE.
He’s up for an extension, but is a bit too small in my estimation for full-time d-tackle.
As you know from my mock drafts posted here, I’ve been in on that idea since the off-season began, drafting a DT (Khyiris Tonga) most often.
We did draft Shaka Toney who is more of a stand-up LB than a DE/Edge rusher.
Del Rio could flex Allen out and put Toney up close to the line on the SAM side of the line of scrimmage.
This would be a way of giving Young or Sweat some rest on occasion by having Allen replace one on certain plays.
Important with both Kerrigan and Anderson gone to other cities.

I think it was Marcus Koch in 1987 that Gibbs dropped from dt to lb and put his hands up so fluorescent could not see throwing lanes. Took flute a decade to figure out how to throw between the lineman. So yeah rush 2 drop 5 whatever. Games are won and lost by the other team. We are alright…hopefully they force and error. Trying to hard always bad. But at the end of the day, just not being a sore loser when Washington wins. Not seeing THAT these days from “fans.”

    Re: Ertz………..
I’m inclined to go with what we’ve got.
I think this year’s TE pick is going to be a pleasant surprise, as a receiver that is.
A vet like ERTZ would be a great bonus, but i just don’t think that’s current management’s style.
They pay one FA a year, and get a bunch of low-ball others to fill out the roster.
So far their picks in that area have been pretty good.
