Redskins wide out DeSean Jackson has been hit with a fine by the NFL for his ‘caution’ cleats he wore during the game two weeks back at home against the Cleveland Browns.
He had initially planned to wear the cleats only during pregame but opted to keep them on all game. The fine for a violation is $6,076. Jackson wore the NFL-approved pink cleats against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Jackson said he didn’t appeal the fine. He said he wore the cleats to bring attention to not only police brutality but also violence within communities.
The NFL is cracking down more and more on the cleats players wear, as Sunday during the Steelers-Jets game officials made Steelers wide out Antonio Brown take off his shoes which paid honor to Mummahad Ali, or they threatened to throw him out of the game.
