Redskins WR Josh Doctson May Miss ‘Another Week or Two’ With Achilles Injury

Josh Doctson

Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson (Achilles’) will be sidelined for “at least another week or two,” ESPN reporter John Keim reports.

Doctson injured his Achilles in an organized team activity session on May 25 and was placed on the physically unable to perform list before training camp.

The Redskins had said two weeks ago that they had hoped Doctson would return within one to two weeks. Since then, he’s been limited to mostly catching passes, which is why the new timetable comes as no surprise. Once his foot is healthy, Doctson would then have to work himself into playing shape.

Last week, Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan told SiriusXM NFL Radio the injury is “not going to be a long-term thing.”

I think they’re prolonging the injury to get DOCTSON onto the regular season PUP list. They’ve got so many receivers to look at that they can’t get to them all.

JACKSON, GARCON got some work in against the BILLS. They are locks on this team.

ROSS got a lot of work with mixed results. GRANT the same. I would not call them locks.

I did not see THOMPSON on the field. After last week’s game-winning catch, I really thought he would show up for this game. Gotta’ be on the field to do that.

Didn’t see CROWDER on the field, or targeted either.

I really think the coaches were playing regulars first, and then those they were evaluating.

Would not surprise me to see ROSS cut.

I think GRANT is on shaky ground too, but makes the 53-man this season.

    JACKSON
    GARCON
    CROWDER
    GRANT
    DOCTSON

This may ultimately be the five WR’s playing against the Steelers.

THOMPSON or DIGGS to the practice squad.
