Jimmy Clausen is back on the NFL radar, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Redskins worked out Clausen, per a source.
Clausen started three games in 2015, one with the Chicago Bears and two with the Baltimore Ravens. He owns a 54 percent completion rate for his career with seven touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He had an awful performance in Chicago’s September loss to the Seahawks last season, completing nine of 17 passes for 63 yards in a 26-0 loss.
The 28-year-old signal caller hasn’t been considered a viable starter since his wayward rookie season with the Carolina Panthers in 2010. Still, he could find work as a competent backup that can run an offense in a pinch.
