Redskins Get Permission To Talk To Vanderbilt Coach James Franklin

NCAA Football: Vanderbilt at Tennessee

Rich Tandler from CSNWashington.com is reporting that the Skins have gotten permission to talk to Vanderbilt coach James Franklin for their head coaching spot.

Franklin is being talked about as not only the possible new head man in Washington, but also the Browns have reported interest in him as well.

He’s been the coach at Vandy for the last three seasons, and has won 9 games the last two seasons, and has revamped the program into a force.

“He’s highly confident, gregarious, very intense, doesn’t suffer fools,” said Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun, who covered Maryland when Franklin was the offensive coordinator there.

Tandler says that Frankin is “considered a long shot to land the Redskins job,” but yet the team will talk to him, and you never know what could come out of that meeting.

I see TEVIA STEVENS is one of eight futures contracts given by the REDSKINS. Looks like he’s slated to be MONTY’s replacement sooner rather than later.

Too bad OT XAVIER NIXON and WR LANCE LEWIS got away.
