Mike Shanahan Says RG III Has Sore Knee, Should Be Okay

Robert Griffin III

Mike Shanahan said Monday that Robert Griffin III’s left knee is sore and he’s expected to undergo some rehab this week, but he’s not expected to miss any practice time, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington reports.

“In talking to [team doctor] Chris [Annunziata] this morning … the knee is fine,” Shanahan said. “A little bit sore right now. That’s about it.”

“I think it just scared me,” Griffin said after the game. “After I got up and the doc checked me, I was fine and ready to go back in to the game.”

Shanahan said on Monday that Griffin should be good to go on Wednesday, the team’s first practice in preparation for Sunday’s home game against the Chargers.

“According to doctors, it’s a little bit sore right now,” Shanahan added. “He’s going to have a little bit more rehab this week, which is typical of a quarterback or any other player who has something hurt. But they feel he’s fine and he’ll be ready to go on Wednesday.”
