Redskins Come To Terms With Former Dolphins QB Pat White

The Redskins have signed quarterback Pat White, the former West Virginia star, who spent one season with the Miami Dolphins, three people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.

White was at Redskins Park on Wednesday, had a workout and passed a physical then signed an agreement on a deal to join the Redskins and return to the NFL.

White, the 44th overall pick of the 2009 draft, spent his rookie season as a backup for Miami, used primarily in Wildcat formations. White as a rookie went 0-for-5 passing and rushed for 81 yards on 21 carries. White was released following the 2010 preseason.

White then spent some time with the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers, and then had two brief stints in baseball, with the Kansas City Royals and Miami Marlins farm systems.

And FEX GROSSMAN. Now four QB’s on the roster.

I guess they’re going to trade Captain KIRK for a late 1st round pick this year.

We need to sign ANTOINE WINFIELD and then the pressure is off ALLEN in the upcoming draft. With that signing we have depth needs at

      1 – FS
      2 – SS
      3 – ILB
      4 – OLB
      5 – FB
      6 – RB
      7 – TE
      8 – WR/KR
      9 – OT

      Not necessarily in that order

Still having to make assumptions about the draft. We still need a CB so that D-HALL can be moved to FS. If ANTOINE WINFIELD can be reeled in, and HALL makes a successful transition to FS, we have a starting D-backfield of:

    FS – HALL
    SS – MERIWEATHER
    CB – WILSON
    CB – WINFIELD

    I’m happy with that group.

    Potential back-ups include

DOUGHTY, GOMES, BIGGERS, CRAWFORD, and MINNEFIELD

Add a FS draft pick and a SS UDFA later in the month. The pressure’s off of having to pick for any particular position. That said i still would hope # 51 goes to a FS.
