Redskins left tackle Trent Williams will not appear in the Pro Bowl on Sunday, and instead will be replaced by Minnesota rookie tackle Matt Kalil, the Vikings announced, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
The Vikings press release said that Williams will not play because of an injury, but the Redskins didn’t supply any information on what had happened.
A league source confirmed that Williams did pull out of the Pro Bowl because of an injury, but didn’t have specifics on what happened.
Williams had been in Hawaii all week, practicing for his first Pro Bowl. He played through thigh, knee and ankle injuries for much of the season, but continued to perform at a high level.
