Robert Griffin III Won’t Start vs Browns; Cousins to Be Under Center

It’s the biggest game for the Redskins in a long time Sunday vs the young Browns, and when they start it Sunday they will do it without the services of stud rookie QB Robert Griffin III.

Washington confirmed on Saturday that Griffin, the NFL’s leading passer as a rookie, will sit with a sprained knee suffered last week late in the eventual win over the Ravens.

Griffin tweeted out late Saturday after it was announced he would not start: “The decision was not my own. But I will be there for my team!!! In every way I possibly can.”
