Shanahan Says Skins Will Not Work Out Kickers This Week

Redskins kicker Billy Cundiff made the 41-yard field goal that gave the Redskins a 24-22 victory over the Bucs. But prior to that, he missed three field goal attempts from 41, 57 and 31 yards.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Sunday he was glad Cundiff was able to redeem himself. Asked Monday whether the Redskins would be considering other kickers, Shanahan said: “We will not work out any kickers this week.”

The Redskins signed Cundiff on Aug. 28 after he was released by the Baltimore Ravens. The Redskins parted ways with both Graham Gano and Neil Rackers, who had battled for Washington’s placekicking duties throughout training camp and the preseason.

I agree. I think Cundiff will be fine.

I’m thinking putting SUNDBERG on restricted IR was a great move.

It usually take’s a kicking team a half season to get in sync. With two moving parts out of three, I think SNOW and CUNDIFF have done a great job to this point. Getting the regular snapper back will really stabilize the kicking game.

We’re half way to his return.
