Now the Redskins must draft Robert Griffin III with their 2nd overall pick, or they will owe a few fans some new gear.

Today the Heisman Trophy Winner showed up at a sports collectibles show at the Dulles Expo Center in Loudon County, Virginia, his first public appearance in the DC area. For $100 dollars, fans were able to take a picture with Griffin (twice the cost of a picture with Newt Gingrich!), or for free (the charge of admission), they could get Griffin to sign their Redskins gear and footballs.

As said on NBCsports.com, “Griffin is already … as popular as a player can be when he’s not on the home team yet.” From a collector’s perspective, the hope is that Washington selects RGIII with the second pick, but if Indianapolis shocks the world and takes Griffin first, I’m sure the fans wouldn’t mind having Andrew Luck in town.
