Video: Should the Redskins trade up to Draft Robert Griffin III?

Mike Shanahan has had two tough years with the Redskins, but that could all turn around with a franchise QB signing the offseason. But will the ‘Skins pull the trigger on Manning, Flynn or Griffin?

    No…….as in hell no!

I don’t know. The Skins have a lot of cap money. It depends how many holes they can fill in with free agency.

MANNING together with other key free agents and our normal complement of picks would put us into the play-off picture. Surrendering picks for RG3 this season and next would not. The SHANNY’s better impress this season, or they may not be here to finish the construct they started two seasons ago.

    New FA guys

    PEYTON MANNING – QB
    VINCENT JACKSON – WR
    CHRIS MYERS – C
    CONNER BARTH – K
    AUBRAYO FRANKLIN – NT
    WILLIAM GAY – CB

    Draft

    RILEY REIFF – OT Iowa
    MARK BARRON* – SS Alabama
    ORSON CHARLES – TE Georgia
    BRANDON WASHINGTON – G Miami
TRUMAINE JOHNSON – FS Boise State
    CODY JOHNSON – FB Texas
ETHAN JOHNSON – DE Notre Dame

*Redskins trade picks to move up in the second round and surrender their fourth round pick.

I analyzed the probable acquisition cost of the new FA’s, and my bill came to a tidy 28.6 million more for the six new guys not counting any cap hits. With roughly 40 million in cap room, that doesn’t leave us enough room to sign our own guys. I’m gonna’ have to revise my mock construct.
