Washington Redskins safety Reed Doughty was fined $15,000 by the league on Friday for striking Minnesota’s Christian Ponder in the head and neck area as the quarterback slid, according to theĀ Associated Press.
The 29-year old Doughty has appeared in all 15 games this season for the Redskins — starting 10 contests at strong safety.
The sixth-year pro out of Northern Colorado has registered 80 tackles — 50 solo stops — and two forced fumbles.
