Hightower Clear Favorite

Tim Hightower continued to impress this preseason with a long run for a touchdown Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Perhaps most impressive however, was his ability to pass block. On numerous passing downs for Grossman and Beck, Hightower was able to hold off the on coming Raven long enough for the quarterback to make the thrown. One of the biggest reasons Hightower saw playing time in Arizona was because of ability to protect Warner. Hightower’s pass blocking led to Grossman’s touchdown pass to Santana Moss in the second quarter. Aside from his pass blocking skills, Hightower continues to impress in other ways as well. His preseason numbers are impressive and I believe that he has locked up the starting position for the rest of year. Ryan Torrain’s injury problems were/are well documented and they have cost him a chance at the starting running back position. He will surely be a factor during the season, but as long as Hightower holds onto the football he will be the #1 guy. He does everything well and has the confidence of Mike Shanahan. Most importantly, he stays healthy.

Unlessnjured, I don’t think we miss a beat with HIGHTOWER rather than PORTIS. Good blocker against rushers and a bigger dude too. Of course, I’m a U of R alum so I love me some TH.

Who have we cut this preseason, or are they gonna’ stay at 90 and do it all at once August 30?

  3. Hightower looked pretty good against the Ravens, I must admit. The Ravens vs Redskins game was one of the best preseason games I’ve ever watched. The Redskins looked much improved on offense.
