Hopkins Keeps Firing Away at McNabb

Boxer Bernard Hopkins has not stopped taking jabs at current Redskins QB Donovan McNabb.

Hopkins, the former middleweight champion, has repeatedly bashed McNabb for years for a variety of perceived grievances. Hopkins says McNabb, the former Eagles quarterback, doesn’t have heart or wasn’t tough like other NFL players because he had a privileged upbringing.

McNabb and his agent have decided to counterpunch. Agent Fletcher Smith released a statement Thursday that says Hopkins’ insinuations about McNabb not being black enough “are dangerous and irresponsible.”

At a workout this week for his upcoming fight, Hopkins said McNabb has “got a suntan. That’s all.”

  1. I’d really like to see McNabb battling it out for the Redskins one more time, especially on the bargain contract they got out of him last year…maybe an open competition with former top QB picks who are available all over the market, such as Culpepper, Young, Beck, Carr, Smith, Harrington, Kolb…My money would be on Beck, possibly Young or McNabb…sure would be fun to watch…loads of untapped talent out there available for practically nothing…And none of it as bad as a lot of what we’ve seen in recent years…Banks, Grossman, Matthews, Wuerffel, Hasselbeck; just to name a few bad starting QB memories.
