Sean McVay Hired as New Tight End Coach

The Redskins have hired Sean McVay as the team’s tight ends coach according to Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com.

McVay spent last season as Offensive Assistant for the Redskins, in addition to working with the team’s tight ends during the final four weeks of the season following the departure of former tight ends coach, Jon Embree.

“Sean impressed me tremendously during his four games as our tight ends coach at the end of this past season,” Redskins executive vice president/head coach Mike Shanahan said. “He has an excellent rapport with the players and is a promising coach in the NFL. It quickly became clear after the season that he was going to be a full-time position coach in this league soon, and we wanted to make sure that it was with the Redskins.”
