Brandon Banks injured in stabbing incident

The Washington Post is reporting that wide receiver Brandon Banks suffered and has been treated for a superficial knife wound, stemming from an incident that took place at a District nightclub called “The Park.”

Banks, along with another man, was involved in an argument with a third individual, who brandished the knife which cut Banks and the other individual. Banks has been released from the hospital, but the other individual injured remains hospitalized in serious condition, according to the report. The suspect has been aprehended and is in custody.

The Redskins have confirmed that the incident took place but indicated that they are still gathering details.

The subject of one of the more popular story lines in an otherwise disappointing season, the diminutive Banks often excited Redskins fans with his outstanding speed and knack for making big plays on kickoff and punt returns. He averaged 25.1 yards per kick return and 11.3 yards per punt return in his first season out of Kansas State.
