What’s with this QB named Beck

Beck was drafted in 2007 by the Dolphins as a 2nd round draft pick. Since then, his playing time has been limited to 5 games with the Dolphins. He’s got 60 completions on 107 attempts. 559 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs. His QB rating is around 62.

Here’s what I was able to find out about him.

  • He was drafted as the Dolphins Franchise QB.
  • scouted him as: a very intelligent player who has no problem executing a complicated game plan, a student of the game who breaks down opposing film and does a good job of making adjustments on the field and said that he has good throwing mechanics and sets his feet with agility and solid base

His critics talked about his lack of arm strength and the fact that he didn’t play elite competition at BYU.

Now in his 4th or 5th year in the NFL, all he has is 5 starts to be evaluated on … and his work on the Skins practice squad.

Technically he’s the backup behind Grossman. Assuming the Redskins have learned their flawed ways with free agents, is there any question where our first round draft pick will be?
