Chelle’s Picks, 12-26-10

I am nothing if not consistent, and 6-9 two weeks is in a row is definitely consistent.  But I’m going to make a bold prediction—I will not go 6-9 for three weeks.  Because two “Thursday” night games this week mean I only have 14 chances to get it right, or wrong as the case may be.  Merry Christmas to me!

And Merry Christmas to you!!  Hope you all enjoyed the holiday, the family, the love, and the food.  Now get ready to kick back with some cold mac-n-cheese, ham sandwiches, and plenty of chocolate from your kids’ stockings.  It’s time to watch some football!!

Four to Watch:

Washington vs. Jacksonville:  We saw last week what Grossman has to offer.  We’ll see this week whether he can be as consistent as Big Mama Chelle herself.  I’m predicting 2 Grossman interceptions and a Washington win by 3.  If that sounds a little inconsistent that’s because Jacksonville is headed up by Gerrard.  Our defense will have a walloping good time on his butt, even without Orakpo.  Good times, baby, good times.  Let me hear you Hollah!!

New York Jets vs. Chicago Bears:  The Jets have been playing well lately.  The Bears have been playing well all year.  Chicago will win tonight, and they won’t face the Jets again this season.

New York Giants vs. Green Bay:  At the beginning of the season, this would have been a contest online casino to watch.  Now it’s a nail-biter alright, but for a way different reason.  Caughlin can’t remember what his winning formula used to be (psst run the ball).  And it doesn’t matter, because Green Bay’s defense will stop him no matter what.  And the Giants D will stop the Packers from moving the ball effectively on the ground AND in the air.  So don’t look for any high scores.  But do look for a good old-fashioned smash mouth game.  Also look for a number of missed cues, angry players, and frustrated coaches.  And count on a Packers win.

New Orleans vs. Falcons:  Last year’s Super Bowl winners have had a tough time of it this year.  They’ve lost their run game and their defense hasn’t shown up.  To make things worse, the Falcons are on fire.  Matt Ryan is playing better than ever, and their fate is just about sealed.  I’m predicting a Falcons – Ravens Super Bowl this year.  So it should come as no surprise that I’m picking the Falcons to win today.  But I’m also banking on a GREAT game.

I have a bad feeling about the Raiders this week.  I’m taking them against the Colts, a bold move I know.  But what do I really have to lose?

Who Cares?

Detroit will lose to Miami.

Baltimore will destroy Cleveland.

New England will crush the Bills.

Kansas City will take Tennessee and continue their run up to the play offs.

San Francisco will lose to St. Louis.

San Diego will crush the Bengals.

Titans will lose to the Broncos.

Philadelphia will destroy the Vikings and clinch the NFC East, on Tuesday night.
