Chelle’s Picks, 11-28-10

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend and that you’re all thoroughly stuffed.  Hope you also caught my 3-0 picks for Thursday.  In bigger news, I went 13-2 on the week for 11-21.  I won’t claim that I actually went 14-2, since my Bears-Dolphins pick isn’t on the record, but I did.  So all in all, it’s been a pretty good week.

That’s all about to end, and not just because the Skins are up against a newly coached Vikings staff.  We’re now entering the tough part of the season, and the two that I lost last week were the Bills against Cinci and the Eagles against the Giants.  And those two losses bode huge in my mind.

The Bills win shows us that we’re about to enter the wild card spoiler season.  Teams you thought didn’t stand a chance will now rise to the middle and skew the numbers.  Teams with talent, with injuries, or with weak spots will fall to these hyenas who will eat them and laugh before getting crushed by the big dogs.

And the Eagles are out to prove that last years’ big dogs aren’t this years’ big dogs.  So Brady, Manning, Brees, and Warner (yes—he was in the playoffs last year, and where is he now?) had better move over for Vick, Rodgers, Ryan, and Campbell?! (just kidding).

Four to Watch:

Jacksonville vs. New York Giants:  Jacksonville is finally living up to its potential.  And the Giants aren’t.  This one will be close and tough, but I’m going with Tom Coughlin and his boys to pull a win home today.  They like to keep that NFC East tight, much to our chagrin.

Green Bay vs. Atlanta:  These two teams are headed to the playoffs, and these two QBs are star players.  This game will be amazing.  I’m calling Atlanta to win, but it’s going to be close.

Minnesota vs. Washington:  This game scares me to pieces.  I love my Skins, and I can’t believe they pulled it out last week despite all the injuries.  Props to the boys!!!!  God knows Minnesota has had their trouble, but a coaching change leaves the Vikings a wildcard in today’s game.  Still, I’m going with the Skins, and I’ll tell you why.  My Twitter sources give me hope that a certain emotional event has our boys FIRED UP!!!  And any time our team sets their organizational problems aside and comes to the field with heart, we win.  So let me hear you HOLLAH!!!!

Philadelphia vs. Chicago:  The Eagles are playing like they are on fire!  And I am certainly going to enjoy watching them tear up the field today.  Julius Peppers and Brian Uhrlacher will get a workout today.  Jay Cutler will not.  He’ll be sacked and intercepted so many times he probably won’t remember the game.

Upset

Colts will win against San Diego, this time.  But it won’t be their last match up this season, and look for Philip Rivers to learn from the experience.

Who Cares?

I don’t care what they did to Cincinnati last week.  The Bengals are an organization with some major problems, and the Bills have yet to convince me that they’re for real.  I see Pittsburgh stomping all over them this week.

Tennessee?  Are you kidding me?  They can’t figure out whether to support their coach or their QB, and this is a he said-he said that’s been going on for four years now.  They don’t stand a chance against a revitalized Houston offense today.  Go Texans!

The Browns will take the Panthers, and Delhomme will look like the truly lackluster QB he has become.

Chiefs will continue their run up to the playoffs by defeating the Seahawks in Seattle.

Dolphins will recover from some of their QB troubles and beat the Raiders today in Oakland.

Tampa Bay will lose big time to Baltimore.

Denver will barely win against St. Louis in a “humble” show of apology for their “mistake” in London.

Cardinals will beat San Francisco—why is this on Monday night football?
