Halftime: Redskins Lead Jets 6-5

NG Albert Haynesworth spent one drive at RE with the starters. He did make one good tackle, but the Jets did a good job of allowing him to penetrate the opposite way the play was headed. It’s the first time he’s worked with the starting base defense.

RB Willie Parker isn’t doing a lot with his first extended opportunity of the preseason. He has gained just four yards on five carries. He hasn’t had a lot of holes, but he also wasn’t getting extra yards after the first hit. Parker did pick up one blitz, an area in which he has shown some weakness.

On Washington’s FG drive, a big play was a 29-yard pass to Santana Moss . Moss went into motion on the play and had a mismatch against S Jim Leonhard.

DL Albert Haynesworth played two snaps with the starting defense in their nickel package. The first time he lined up over the left guard, and the second time he was at nose tackle. Haynesworth helped collapse the pocket on his second play, stunting to the right.

One matchup to watch tonight: C Casey Rabach vs. NT Kris Jenkins. Rabach has struggled vs. bigger players up front, at least when he’s unable to move laterally. Rabach has to make sure he doesn’t get overpowered.
