On The Seventh Day, Rest For Haynesworth

Not that anyone should be surprised by this, but Haynesworth is sitting out again this morning due to swelling in his knee.  2 failures of the conditioning test, 7 days of training camp later – and Big Al has by and large yet to contribute to the Redskins practice activities.

And on the seventh day of Redskins training camp, Albert Haynesworth is resting.

Just as he did yesterday, Haynesworth skipped the Redskins’ conditioning test to rest his ailing knee. And it looks like he will continue skipping the conditioning test for a few more days.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports that Haynesworth does not plan further attempts to pass the conditioning test until his knee improves.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says Haynesworth can’t be a full participant in Redskins practice until he does pass the test, so it could be a while before the Redskins’ $100 million man is on the practice field with the rest of his teammates.

The swelling in Haynesworth’s knee was apparently caused by his previous attempts to pass the Redskins’ conditioning test, which consists of two 300-yard shuttle runs.
