Tuesday Camp News

Albert Haynesworth missed another day of practice due to a sore knee from two consecutive days of running last week. Wow, when I put it like that, the guy really is in bad shape!  Shanahan said:

“Albert, as you could see, was out there watching practice today, and had a little work afterwards with walk-throughs and some agility drills. But his knee’s still bothering him, and when he’s ready to try to take that test again, he’ll take it.”

Backup QB John Beck took to the field today with the Redskins to try and learn the new offensive system. He said of the situation:

“The offenses are very differen. So I feel kind of like a rookie where it’s your first OTA and your head is spinning a little bit. But I am going to do everything I can do get up to speed as soon as I can.”

Brett Farve may or may not be retiring.  Go figure!

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Favre began telling team officials on Monday night that he will not return for another season.  The disclosure comes on the heels of an observation from Zulgad that team “ownership and power brokers” held a meeting at practice that “looked very intense.”

Zulgad also reports that Favre plans to issue a press release later today.  Apparently, Favre’s injured ankle “has not responded” after surgery and rehab.
