Redskin HGH Talk Blowin Up

It’s everywhere this morning — it seems the Galea/HGH/Redskins story has landed and been made an official tie to Brian Cushing incident that broke weeks ago, and the larger debate about whether advanced PED testing needs to be administered in the NFL, with adequate oversight of course. We wouldn’t want the NFL to be the next MLB, now would we?

Anyway, here is the super saturated HGH blotter:

Dr. Galea was arrested while en route to treat a Redskin – PFT

The criminal complaint indicates that the unnamed player was receiving a “medical procedure” from Galea, which included IV drips, injections to his knees, and B-12 shots to his arm. The player told authorities that “he never knowingly received” hGH.

…With no testing for hGH, NFL players will be suspended only if they admit to purchasing or possessing it, or if their names come out in situations like this, with a provider of hGH finding himself caught in the gears of the justice system.

Canadien Doctor Accused Of Treating A Redskins Player with HGH – Riggo’s Rag

Anthony Galea, a Canadien doctor, is accused of treating professional athletes, including unnamed Washington Redskins, using HGH (Human Growth Hormones)…

…Following the Brian Cushing incident, it will be interesting to see how this is handled.

Redskins players react to story linking teammate to doctor’s drug bust – The Post

“I’m not surprised by anything,” Redskins’ fullback Mike Sellers said Tuesday. “I was reading some of the blogs and some people tried tying me into it. I was like, ‘Come on.’ It is what it is. The truth will come out.

“Do I think certain people have done things? I don’t know.”

Until the name does come out, expect the speculation to continue. While it’s certainly not fair to most members of the roster, there’s one player on the roster who apparently admitted to federal investigators that he received treatments from Dr. Anthony Galea.

Though the league doesn’t test for human growth hormone, that player could still be subject to punishment once his name surfaces.

Food for thought: If indeed a Redskins player has gone down this road and had been treated with HGH from 2009-2010, who has either benefited the most drastically in their play or have noticeably gotten freakishly biggest the fastest?
