DL Greg Peterson Signed

Former Buc and Jaguar defensive lineman Greg Peterson signed a contract with the Redskins yesterday.  A few things about Peterson indicate that he may be still somewhat of a project — he has never started a complete season with Tampa Bay or Jacksonville, he’s 26 years old, and he’s played both ends and tackles in multiple schemes.  He could be a versatile option that adds depth for the Redskins this year — meaning he could be a diamond in the rough.  Or…. he could be a status quo player and there’s a reason no one has ever heard of him before.  The answer is I guess that time will tell.

Peterson, 26, had his best season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007, playing in 10 games and being credited with 14 tackles, including 11 unassisted. He also had 1.5 sacks.

A fifth-round draft pick (No. 141 overall) of Tampa Bay in 2007, Peterson appeared in two games with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. Peterson, who is listed at 6 feet 5, 315 pounds, was credited with one tackle for the Jaguars.
