BREAKING: Big Ben Not Going To Be Prosecuted

Just moments ago, the District Attorney representing Milledgeville, Ga., announced that there will not be any criminal charges filed against Ben Roethlisberger on allegations that he sexually assaulted a college student in a nightclub last month.
Fred Bright said the case “cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt” and “therefore there will be no charges” in this case.

He went on to say that there was flirting between Ben and the young woman, that she was highly intoxicated and did suffer some minor injuries to “her genital area.”

While there was inference of some sexual contact between Ben and the young woman, doctors who treated her said there was no way to indicate that it was against the woman’s will.

Bright says there was insufficient DNA present to compare with Roethlisberger.

Bright says the “victim” said she did not want to pursue this case any further in both a letter as well as a follow up interview 10 days ago.

He also says that Ben’s status as a high-profile athlete did not play a role in this decision.

Bright went on to say “the overall circumstances do not lead to a viable prosecution. If they did, I would pursue it vigorously. We are not condoning Mr. Roethlisberger’s actions that night. But we do not prosecute morals, we prosecute crimes.”

“So, after a long review of the facts, Mr. Roethlisberger will not be prosecuted in this case,” said Bright.

So it seems that Ben and his lawyers are 2 for 2 in these sorts of endeavors… this cat must have 9 lives.
