Cerrato Says Zorn Won’t Be Fired During the Season

For those that think that Jim Zorn is as good as gone as head coach for the Redskins, you still may be right. You just may have to wait awhile. It’s been a big topic in DC about the future of Zorn, and today VP of Football Operations Vinny Cerrato said Zorn is going nowhere, at least for the regular season.

Cerrato said the following Friday morning on his radio show about the future of Zorn. “Let me start by making a few things very perfectly clear: Jim Zorn is the head coach of the Washington Redskins, and will be for the rest of this season, and hopefully into the future,” Cerrato said on ESPN 980 in Washington.

The play calling of the Skins was turned over to Sherm Lewis this past week after the Skins failed to do much of anything vs the Chiefs Sunday at home in a loss. Zorn said Monday he had too much on his plate, which was why a change was made.

We’ll see if there’s any change for the Skins, who are 2-4 and haven’t scored over 17 points a game this season. Washington takes on the Eagles at home Monday night.
