Emergence of Kareem Moore

Last Thursday’s 23-0 smack down in Baltimore hardly had any positive side notes. But there was a ray of hope on the team. Defensively, Kareem Moore was hitting anything that came his way. Early in the game Reed Doughty completely whiffed on a tackle that should have been made, but instead, laid down. Moore was there to clean up his mess.

On two consecutive pass plays , the Ravens went to wide receiver Justin Harper. On both plays Moore was there to lay solid, ball dislodging hits. Moore seemed to be in on every tackle and the stat sheet reflected his performance. Moore led the defense with 6 total tackles. His tackles weren’t of average impact either. Moore leveled Harper both times they encountered each other. This isn’t the first time Kareem Moore has displayed his tackling power. Last season Moore knocked Bengals reciever, Chad Ochocinco’s helmet off midway through a crossing route.

It was good see the safety position can be a strong point on an already staunch defense. A good rotation of Laron Landry, Chris Horton, Kareem Moore and possibly Fred Smoot can be the best deterrent against the deep ball.
