Colt for QB in 2011

Despite all the turmoil and sub-par quarterback play that has haunted Washington players and fans alike, things may be about to turn around in the near future. This is the scenario: Suppose Jason Campbell performs to the point that he keeps his job for the 2010 season. That means only one thing; ‘Skins get deep into the playoffs this upcoming season. 2010 comes and goes and Campbell and the Redskins part ways.

No need to fret because during those years which I’ll call the Campbell era, waiting in the wings and hopefully absorbing all types of tips, tricks, and knowledge will have been Jim Zorn’s young protégé, Colt Brennan. In the scenario I’m offering it’s safe to assume that if Campbell is doing well enough to keep his position than Zorn must be coaching at a high level also.

Right now Colt is playing the same role that Aaron Rodgers played his first few years in the league. By Simply waiting and observing Aaron Rodgers was able to step into the offense and contribute immediately. The Jury is still out on Rodgers but early signs indicate that at the very lest he will have a decent NFL career.

The wait-a-few-seasons-and-learn approach might be the best option for Colt. Remember Heath Shuler? His trial-by-fire ended with a death sentence, figuratively speaking of course. His time will come. It’s always greater, later.

Colt would be a better 49er then a skin head.
