The Redskins released veteran CB Shawn Springs on Friday. The move was expected since they re-signed CB DeAngelo Hall to a six-year, $54 million deal earlier in the day.

Springs was on the final year of his contract and had a cap number of $8.48 million, but they’ll actually save $6 million with the move. His base salary was $6 million and he had $2.48 million left in bonus proration.
