The Redskins have the 13th overall pick in first round of the NFL Draft, and for a team that missed the playoffs, they should be in a good position to get some solid players not only in the draft, but also can target some free agents. The team has four picks overall in the draft, as a result of trades for Kendall and Jason Taylor the last two years.
Here are a few free agents that could pay off right away for the Skins:
WR Shaun McDonald, UFA, Detroit Lions - He’s a quality possession WR that can give Jason Campbell an outlet. Not going to make many 80-yard plays, but would not be a bad 3rd WR in this offense that will throw a lot again in 09.
K Shayne Graham, UFA, Cincinnati Bengals – Shaun Suisham was just 26-for-36 this past season, and Graham is a good young kicker that can upgrade the position right away.
OT Vernon Carey, UFA, Miami Dolphins – The Skins had issues keeping players healthy on the O-line again this year, and Carey is a good young player that may be able to step in and give this unit some help.
DE Julius Peppers, UFA, Carolina Panthers - Here’s the guy that everyone wants, a player that can add a huge lift to a D-line that didn’t put nearly as much pressure as it should have on the QB in 2008. He’ll cost them a pretty penny though.

This list is questionable. Sounds like vinny cerrato himself came up with it. Didnt we take a chance on Jason Taylor, an older DE like Peppers, and that was nothing short of a BUST.
Shaun Mcdonald…ehhh…Ocho Cinco would be better.
They still have problems with consistency from the WR position and Moss isn’t getting any younger. Houshmandzadeh is a better target than McDonald but he’s probably going to want a fortune. I’d rather see them try to get Boldin in a trade if they’re gonna shell out big bucks for a WR.
