The knee injury that has limited RB Clinton Portis forced him to miss the practice session today for the Redskins. Coach Jim Zorn said today that Portis likely won’t be able to practice till Friday, and the leading back will be a game-time decision for the Cowboys game Sunday night.
The back was able to straighten his left leg Wednesday, which made the coach happy. “The proof will be in how he warms up,” Zorn said. The big key will be Friday, as if Portis does practice, he’ll probably play, and if not, the decision to sit him will be that much easier. The carries likely will go to former Seahawk Shaun Alexander.
