Williams Stays Bonded To Sean Taylor, Redskins

Gregg Williams now is the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be on the other end of the field Thursday night in Landover. That is where the Washington Redskins and the Jags will lower the curtain on their preseason schedules. Williams says he feels a special kinship to the Burgundy and Gold through his relationship to the late linebacker Sean Taylor while assistant head coach for the defense. The 22-year-old Pro Bowler was killed in Miami last November.

Williams says he keeps a coin in his pocket to remind him of how close the pair became. The 50-year-old Williams tells the “Washington Post,” quote, “I really feel he’s with me every day. That’s a unique relationship we had, probably one I’ll never have again with any other player. Our personalities matched so much. He was all football, every single second.”
