There is sadness in the hearts of NFL players, coaches and administrators over the death of Gene Upshaw. The 63-year-old Upshaw learned only last weekend he had pancreatic cancer. Lately, he was the Players Union representative. Owner Daniel Snyder of the Washington Redskins says he got friendly with Upshaw after buying the Burgundy and Gold and will miss him. The Redskins have been touched by death. Joe Bugel’s 36-year-old daughter Holly is dead from a rare form of bone cancer. The news about the loved one of the coach of the offensive line comes ahead of Washington’s preseason game with the Carolina Panthers on the road tomorrow night.
