Redskins Ink WR Thomas

The Redskins signed wide receiver and second-round draft pick Devin Thomas today.  Thomas was taken out of Michigan State with the 34th overall pick in this year’s draft.  He caught 79 passes for 1,260 yards and eight touchdowns last season.  He amassed 1,135 kickoff return yards.  To make room on the roster, the club released fullback Pete Schmitt.  Washington now has nine of its 10 draft picks under contract.  Only wide receiver Fred Davis, another second-round pick, remains unsigned.
