Free agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett has cut a two-year deal with the Panthers; shunning an offer from the Redskins.  The pass catcher will team with Steve Smith in Charlotte instead of compliment Santana Moss in Burgundy and Gold.  Hackett had played with the Seattle Seahawks and recently visited Redskins Park.  His package with the Panthers is reportedly $3.5-million for this season and next.  Washington is said to be waiting to hear if Reche Caldwell will return to the receiving corps for 2008.
