Skins Rework Cooley’s Deal to Save Cap Money
Posted by Matt Loede on February 14th, 2008 in News

The Redskins today saved some cash as they reworked the contract of tight end Chris Cooley. FOXSports.com reported that the team converted an $11 million dollar roster bonus for Cooley into guaranteed cash. The cap value now for Cooley drops from a team-high $12.2 mil to $4.4 mil for the 2008 season. The Skins are right now $7 mil over the cap, but will be making roster moves (cutting QB Mark Brunell will be one move) to get under the cap.
