Redskins already have made it clear they will not hire a head coach to replace Joe Gibbs until after the Super Bowl this coming Sunday. This is sending signals the “Burgundy and Gold” wants to talk to some coordinators for the New York Giants and New England Patriots. Those teams will clash in the big game in Phoenix. ESPN reports that Washington owner Dan Snyder this week will interview Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Ron Meeks.
This will be a second interview for Meeks, this time in Indianapolis. Washington has offensive and defensive coordinators in place in Jim Zorn and Greg Blache, respectively. Also, former offensive coordinator Al Saunders and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams are getting lots of feelers from other teams as coordinators. The Oakland Raiders may consider Saunders for their head coaching job.
