Redskins To Interview Jim Mora Today
Posted by Matt Loede on January 16th, 2008 filed in NewsThe Washington Redskins have added a new name to their search for a new head coach. Former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora will be interviewed today in Ashburn. Mora is the son of another Jim Mora, who used to coach the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.
At the moment, he is a defensive coach with the Seattle Seahawks and could be in line to replace Mike Holmgren if Holmgren hands in his headset. Back to the Colts, two assistants to head man Tony Dungy are getting a look from the Burgundy and Gold. Assistant head coach Jim Caldwell and defensive coordinator Ron Meeks are going to be grilled by Washington brass.
Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is not being held to a timetable to name a successor to Joe Gibbs. The players keep heralding assistant head coach of the defense Gregg Williams as their preference to guide them in 2008.
