Campbell Likes Saunders As Offensive Coordinator
Posted by Matt Loede on January 14th, 2008 filed in NewsThe Redskins say Gregg Williams will have a second interview with owner Daniel Snyder later today regarding the head coaching job. Insiders say the team should be ready to announce a successor to Joe Gibbs by the end of the week. Now that the Indianapolis Colts have been erased from the post season picture by the San Diego Chargers, Washington has a chance to interview two assistant coaches who would fulfill the requirement to talk to a minority candidate. Expressing interest in the Redskins job are assistant head coach Jim Caldwell or defensive coordinator Ron Meeks. Quarterback Jason Campbell would like to see Al Saunders stay as offensive coordinator to avoid learning a new system. Campbell missed several games down the stretch with a knee injury.
