The Washington Redskins improved to 4-2 today after a 21-19 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.Clinton Portis lead the Redskins offense today with 2 touchdowns on the ground. Offensively their was nothing much to get excited about as the Skins struggled to move the ball. The offense totaled only 160 yards on the day.
Washington’s defense looked dominate for the first 3 quarters, and the Redskins took a
15 point lead into the fourth. Arizona scored 2 touchdowns in the quarter and had a chance
to tie the game late. It was at that point where Skins rookie LaRon Landry made a huge
interception on a 2-pt conversion attempt.
The Redskins allowed an onside recovery by Arizona on the following play. Arizona
managed to get into field goal range with a chance to steal a win. Cardinals kicker
Neil Rackers pulled the 55 yard attempt to the left. The missed field goal allowed
Washington to escape with the victory.
