O-Line Injuries Becoming a Big Concern for Redskins

The Redskins offensive line is becoming a place where players go to get injured. Sunday in their latest loss – 17-14 to the Packers, three more linemen went down with injuries, leaving the team to possibly look to pickup O-linemen off the street this week to play Sunday at home when the Skins host the Arizona Cardinals. Sunday the team lost linemen center Casey Rabach , to a potentially serious groin injury. Replacement right tackles Todd Wade (groin) and Stephon Heyer (hamstring).

The running game amassed 94 yards, but needed 29 carries to do it and had just a 3.2 yards per carry average on the day. Head coach Joe Gibbs is well aware of the serious nature that the injuries on the line is causing. “One of the things I’m most concerned about right now is our injury situation,” said Gibbs . “We were scrambling around there trying to get guys who could fill in for us. We had a chance to make plays today and a lot happened.” Gibbs added that the full extent to the latest O-line injuries will not be known till later today. The team was already missing two starters on the O-line, Jon Jansen and Randy Thomas. Jansen is out for the season while Thomas continues to try and work his way back from a torn triceps.
