State of the Redskins After Week Two

As I watched the Washington Redskins on Monday night, I had a sence of enjoyment for the first time in years. Finally I see direction, I see promise, and more importantly I see a future. On Monday night I saw a team ! A group to be proud off. A group of players who did  [...]

Redskins Ground Eagles In Philadelphia, 20-12

The Redskins used a blend of balanced offense and stingy defense to ground the Philadelphia Eagles 20-12 in the “City of Brotherly Love” last night.  Running back Clinton Portis ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and Washington’s defense turned away the Eagles inside the 10-yard line in the waning minutes at Lincoln Financial [...]

Redskins Lose Randy Thomas With Triceps Injury

The offensive line of the Redskins has suffered another big blow.  Right guard Randy Thomas has a triceps injury early in last night’s road win over the Philadelphia Eagles.  Jason Fabini stepped in for Thomas.  Coach Joe Gibbs says a tear in the triceps might keep Thomas out of action for awhile.  Washington already lost right [...]

Washington Set for MNF Showdown in Philly

The Redskins have a rugged NFC East test with the Philadelphia Eagles on the road tonight.  The “City of Brotherly Love” hasn’t been very friendly to the “Burgundy and Gold.”  The Birds have grabbed 10 of the last 14 games played between the rivals.  Last year, Washington was drilled, 27-3.  Cornerback Fred Smoot says he wants [...]

Daniels downgraded for Monday night game

In what will provide a test for the Washington Redskins’ young defensive line, the team has downgraded defensive end Philip Daniels to “doubtful”, making his availability for the Monday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles less than likely.  His unavailability will provide a stern test as Demetric Evans would more than likely replace Daniels on [...]

Caldwell’s Arrival May Mean Less Playing Time for Lloyd

When the Redskins grabbed Brandon Lloyd awhile back, he was expected to have a big impact on the teams passing game.  Not only has he not been what they thought he would be, Lloyd may now be in danger of not getting on the field much at all after the Skins this week picked [...]

Redskins Re-Sign Stoutmire

Veteran safety Omar Stoutmire has re-signed with the Redskins.  The 5-11, 205 pounder signed with the “Burgundy and Gold” in the offseason, but was released early this month.  Backup safeties Pierson Prioleau and Vernon Fox got hurt in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins.  So, the coaches decided to bring back someone who knows Gregg [...]

Wade To Start For Jansen Monday Night

Todd Wade is now the starting right tackle for the Redskins.  Wade is on to replace Jon Jansen, out for the season with a bad ankle.  Wade originally was to have replaced free agent Derrick Dockery, but that didn’t pan out.  Washington is on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles Monday evening.
