The Redskins have the rest of the week off. The “Burgundy and Gold” are healing and humble after losing by a touchdown at home to the New York Giants on Sunday. Defensive linemen Phillip Daniels and Cornelius Griffin are among the walking wounded who will benefit from the bye week. Coach Joe Gibbs feels the players need time away after such a heartbreaking defeat, their first of the season. The next game for Washington is in Landover, a week from Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
