Skins Get Ready For Final Exhibition Game

The Redskins finally won a preseason game over the weekend, but once again the offense was a sputtering wreck of inefficiency. They’ve got three days to fix the glitches as they approach their final tuneup game this Thursday in Jacksonville. No, that game won’t count either, but it would give coach Joe Gibbs as well as Redskins fans a bit of relief if the first-string offense could find the end zone, something they haven’t done in their first three warmup games. Starting running back Clinton Portis is still not expected on the field as he works through some knee tendinitis. He expects to be ready for week one’s game against the Miami Dolphins however. The status of quarterback Jason Campbell will be up in the air. The third-year pro sat out Saturday’s game against the Ravens because of the bruised knee he suffered in week two.
