The Redskins continue to work out at Redskins Park with a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx Field tomorrow. Yesterday it was announced that Todd Collins would get the start in place of Jason Campbell, who remains hobbled by a bruised knee. And with concerns about the offensive line still present after Campbell’s injury, the team announced they’ve traded a draft pick for disgruntled New York Jets guard Pete Kendall. He’s likely to quickly step in as the starting left guard provided he passes a team physical. In exchange for the 12-year-veteran, the Jets will get either a fourth or fifth round pick in the 2009 draft. The team also signed fullback Fred Beasley yesterday. The 32-year-old didn’t play at all last year, but spent the eight previous years in San Francisco. He’s known more as a blocker, though he has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He’ll back up starter Mike Sellers in Washington.
