Pucillo With Golden Shot to Change Landscape on Skins O-Line

One Redskin has a great opportunity on Saturday night to make a move into the starting lineup, that being backup offensive lineman Mike Pucillo. The veteran will start in front of Todd Wade, who is out with a shoulder injury, and guard Will Whitticker was released after getting hurt. A good outing against the Steelers could do wonder for Pucillo. The 28-year-old native from Cleveland, OH is in his 5th NFL season, and last year played in 12 games, without a start.

Starting though to the 6-4, 306 pounder is nothing new, as he did start 6 games with his hometown Browns back in 2005, and 12 games with the Bills back in 2003. “He has a golden opportunity,” O-line coach Joe Bugel said. “Anytime you work hard and you get the chance to start you figure, if you want the job, play well. He understands that.” Pucillo will be playing next to Stephon Heyer, who is a rookie free agent starting for Chris Samuels at left tackle.
