Skins Trying Marcus Washington At Defensive End

The Redskins are rounding out their game plan as they prepare to kick off the preseason schedule Saturday night in Nashville with the Tennessee Titans. Marcus Washington is working out at defensive end. The linebacker used to play that position at Auburn. Defensive end Phillip Daniels says he knows Washington can play the position when called upon and none of the lineman is telling him what to do out of respect. Running back Clinton Portis is sitting out the preseason opener to rest his sore knee, bothered by tendinitis.
